Rough Cricket
The season concluded on the evening of Friday August 24th – eight figures creating long shadows on the edge of the cricket square at Belair in Dulwich. This season has been deliberately low-key and unpressured after the hefty, funded activity of 2006 but the idea of texting reminders to potential players each fortnight worked well and, in total, over thirty players took part in twelve games played in eight different spaces. Being part of Camberwell Arts Festival was a breakthrough and took us into new territory. Next year I would like to play in more unusual spaces including occasional ’team’ games hosted by new opponents. Boo to those who have never responded and to those who should, by now, after three years, have turned out for a game.
