Francis was born in Beijing, he
works extensively in the UK and Europe. His career
includes the posts of chief electrician at the Albery
Theatre, and at the Alexandra Theatre, and Resident
Lighting Designer at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. He
has many lighting design credits to his name, some of
which are: 'Birthday' for the Cholmondeleys and the
Featherstonehaughs, 'Imagining October' for Derek
Jarman, and 'Tales from the Citadel' for Green Candle
Dance Company. His most recent designs are a
production of 'The Crucible' for WTC Productions, and
'Cinderella' for the Hackney Empire. In April he will
be returning to the Hackney Empire full-time as it
prepares for its major refurbishment in 2001.
