The Company was founded in 1987 by Artistic Director, Fergus Early. Green Candle Dance Company brings dance as performance and practice to all sections of the community, particularly those who have least access to it. Under the artistic direction of Fergus Early, Green Candle creates vivid, challenging and inventive prductions for many differenct community groups. In it's distinctive fusion of choreography, music, text and design, Green Candle produces a complete theatrical experience which energises new audiences.

The Work the company creates is for all age groups from 3 year olds to older people in residential homes.

The Tours the company undertakes are to theatres, schools community centres, day centres, 4residential homes and hospitals all over Britain and the Republic of Ireland. As part of its tour work, the company offers individally devised workshops, enabling the audience to participate, thereby increasing their enjoyment and fulfilment.

Education is thoroughly integrated into the company's work with all artists delivering a year-round education programme to people of all ages, needs and abilites.
